To log out from a hot desk set, invoke log out by entering a feature access code (FAC) or pressing a softkey. After you log out (or are logged out by the system), your DN follows out-of-service handling and the hot desk set reverts back to the programming associated with its profile.
To log out a hot desk set immediately, the prime line must be idle (no ringing, active, or held call). You are able to logout immediately even if you have non-prime lines that are in a ringing, flashing, or in use by other co-workers.
Depending on your set type, you initiate a Hot Desk logout when the prime line is idle by
Pressing the "Logout" softkey
Pressing the Hot Desking feature key and then press the "Logout" softkey
Dialing the hot desk Logout FAC (Feature Access Code)
Dialing the hot desk Remote Logout FAC followed by the DN of the idle hot desk user
To initiate a logout while the prime line is busy on a call (delayed logout)
Press the "Hot Desking" feature key, and then press the " Logout" softkey. Logout occurs when the prime line returns to idle state.
The following conditions apply to hot desk logout:
Delayed logout functionality is not supported for traditional ACD agents, but is supported for Hot Desk ACD agents.
If you are busy or have a call on hold on any line, you can still initiate a logout. After the hot desk set returns to idle state, your logout takes effect.
Both traditional ACD agents and hot desk ACD agents can logout while their non-prime lines are ringing. After hot desk agents logout, calls on their non-prime lines will not get answered unless they are ringing on another device, or get diverted to another device.
If a device's prime line is being rung, then the logout attempt is rejected.
An administrator with remote logout permission can log out a user remotely using the Remote Logout access code and the user's DN.
Hot desk sets can also be logged out automatically using the Scheduler.
NOTE: When a resilient hot desk device rehomes to a switch that has a newer device firmware, the user (including hot desk ACD agents) is automatically logged out to allow the firmware upgrade to proceed.
Hot desk users can be automatically logged out after a preset duration. To log out a hot desk user automatically, set the duration (in hours) in the Hot Desk Auto Logout Timer Class of Service (COS) option. When Hot Desk Auto Logout Timer expires, the hot desk user is automatically logged out.
The hot desk auto logout is supported for the following hot desk users:
MiNet Hot Desk
External Hot Desk User (EHDU)
SIP Hot Desk
ACD Hot Desk
External Hot Desk Agent (EHDA)
NOTE: Hot desk auto logout is not supported for traditional ACD agents.
The following conditions apply to hot desk auto logout feature:
This feature applies irrespective of whether hot desk users are active or inactive.
If an EHDU does not have a permanent login COS, then the feature applies to the EHDU regardless whether logged into the PSTN, MiNet or SIP.
If an EHDU has a permanent login COS, then the feature is applied when the EDHU is logged into MiNet or SIP.
A EHDU with a permanent login COS, when changes the logon location from a PSTN to non-PSTN and vice-versa, the system considers this as a logout and login, and restarts the logon duration.
If Hot Desk Auto Logout Timer expires while a hot desk user is still busy on a call, the log out occurs when the hot desk user returns to idle state.
Hot desk users' logon duration is maintained on primary and secondary servers during failovers and fallbacks. As a prerequisite, both the primary and secondary servers must on MiVB 8.0 SP1 release.
The hot desk users' logon duration is stored on a volatile memory. This information is lost when the system is rebooted.
When an active hot desk user (logged into a telephone) logs into another telephone, the logon duration is carried forward from the first telephone to the second telephone (this is, the system does not consider this as a logout and login).
When two hot desk users are logged into the same telephone, if the first hot desk user logs out, the system clears the logon information of the first hot desk user and starts the timer for the second hot desk user.
During an active Mobile Line call, the Hot Desk Auto Logout Timer expires and disables the Mobile Line feature. The call is transferred to the mobile phone.
